Ronald B. Helson, “Ron”, has been “of counsel” with
the law firm of Monks, Monks, Monks & Hiran since November of
2002. Mr. Helson’s primary area of practice is
in the field of criminal law. Prior to his association with the firm
of Monks, Monks, Monks & Hiran, Mr. Helson has spent over nine
years as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney for Brazoria County.
Mr. Helson has successfully tried numerous criminal cases to a jury.
These cases include but are not limited to the following charges;
murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated sexual
assault, sexual assault, indecency with a child, aggravated robbery,
burglary of a habitation, burglary of a building, forgery, theft,
possession of a controlled substance, assault, and driving while
intoxicated. While attending law school, Mr. Helson was an intern
for the Harris County District Attorneys Office and the National
College of District Attorneys.
Mr. Helson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Spring Arbor College
majoring in psychology. Mr. Helson went on to earn a Doctor of Jurisprudence
from the University of Houston in 1989 and became licensed by the
State of Texas in 1990. He is licensed by the Supreme Court of the
State of Texas and the United States District Court for the Southern
District of Texas. Mr. Helson is currently a member of the Texas
Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
